Export champion kudos for Tidyco

Bondholder Tidyco, a supplier of hydraulic and pneumatic products to the UK rail industry for over 40 years, has been recognised as an Export Champion by the Department for International Trade (DIT).

Tidyco is one of 56 Midlands companies which have been selected by DIT for their inspirational approach to growing their businesses through exporting and will encourage peers in the region to follow suit. The appointments come at a time when worldwide appetite for British goods continues to grow, with UK exports up 2% in 2018.

The award is in recognition of the company’s contribution to the economic growth of the region which will entail Tidyco taking part in keynote speaking at seminars and workshops; telling the story of how the organisation has been and continuous to be successful in exporting. Other roles will include roundtable discussions as well as contributing towards DIT strategies.

Barry Aldridge FCIM, Head of Marketing for Tidyco, said: “It was a genuine honour to receive the recognition from DIT. Tidyco has collaborated closely with the DIT over the past few years and 2018 saw the company gaining exceptional traction with regards to an ambitious China Export project.

"Tidyco also continues to enjoy ongoing success with wider Far East exporting as well as substantial trading initiatives with the USA. As such, the company has appointed a dedicated Export Account Manager.”

The national Export Champion community, launched in March as part of the Exporting is GREAT campaign, was introduced in response to a desire from businesses to receive peer-to-peer exporting support. There are now 250 Export Champions active across England, and DIT’s ambition is to expand the programme to at least 1,000 Champions by April 2020.
