Exciting Exhibitions Upcoming at The Harley Gallery

Visions of Welbeck
The Harley Gallery is staging a series of exhibitions, between May and December 2022 that each explore different visions of the historic Welbeck estate.

Kyra Cane - From Potter's Wheel to Interior Decor explores Harley Studio Ceramicist Kyra Cane's creative response to landscape and weather patterns – including the landscape surrounding her studio on the historic Welbeck estate. Through her collaboration with the international interiors brand Villa Nova, these works have been translated into interior decor products that are now available across the globe.

Works will be available to purchase in The Harley Gallery Shop.

Exhibition period 14/05/2022 – 24/07/2022

Michelle Reader - Recycled Sculptures shows Michelle's large scale wildlife sculptures, made of reclaimed and recycled materials. These works are accompanied by two new life-size horse sculptures by Michelle Reader. The horses depict a prehistoric wild horse and a modern day racehorse, the latter inspired by works from the Portland collection depicting horses owned by the Duke of Portland and painted by Stubbs at Creswell Crags. They will be sited in the Courtyard outside the gallery, and mark the start of the new Art Trail to Creswell Crags.

Exhibition period 14/05/2022 – 24/07/2022

The 5th Duke of Portland - Tunnel Vision illustrates the life of the elusive 5th Duke at Portland, who owned Welbeck during the Victorian period. The 5th Duke is famous for his extraordinary buildings, including miles of tunnels under the estate. This exhibition will reveal his life beyond the tunnels - with lost love, amazing art collecting, and the creation of the landscape we see today at Welbeck among the stories of his life.

Exhibition period 14/05/2022 - 31/12/2022

Sofia Mitsola: House of Aquamarina. Exhibited for the first time, Sofia Mitsola’s miniatures are shown in conversation with 33 key historic miniatures from The Portland Collection.
