A few weeks ago our online catalogue had a face-lift, vastly modernising and improving not just the way it looks, but also the way you can find information. The catalogue allows you to search through more than 8000 archive collections and we’ve been adding a lot of the books from the Local Studies Library as well (but there are so many, it will take another 8 years before they’re all included!).

The first of our guides on how to use the catalogue is now on our blog – it explains how an archive catalogue works and describes some basic ways to search for information. Why not have a go: just put a word in the ‘Quick Search’ box (e.g. Ilkeston, mining or dance) and see what you can discover!
