Chief Executive of Healthwatch England Louise Ansari, paid a visit to the Hope for Belper Food and Community Hub recently to speak with local people and discuss the growing concerns surrounding the impact of the rising cost of living on their health. The visit highlighted the urgent need to address these issues to prevent further health inequalities in health outcomes.

Derbyshire housing trust bike project helps turn the wheels of fortune for former engineer

The wheels of fortune in the life of a former engineer from Derbyshire have been turned around thanks to a bike repair project run by award-winning Derventio Housing Trust.

 

Paul Hudson, 39, of Alfreton, is now working as a paid co-ordinator of volunteers for Bike Back Derby, where he uses his engineering skills in helping others refurbish bicycles, and in doing so supporting people to get fitter through cycling.

 

Derbyshire science company Lubrizol boosts man re-running half marathon in which he sustained concussion

A running trio supporting their friend and sibling on his first race since he suffered a serious head injury while competing in the same event have been boosted in their charity fundraising by Derbyshire science company Lubrizol.

 

Andy Southey, 31, is taking part in Nottingham’s Robin Hood Half Marathon in September, along with his brother Dave and close friend Matt Thompson.

Monarch Security was set up during the pandemic by Farhaan Bhatti and Phil Wright who have nearly 30 years’ combined experience in the industry.
