Derby Museums are closing for a while...

In response to the government’s latest advice regarding the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, we have taken the decision today to close all of our museum sites to the public with effect from Wednesday 18 March 2020, until it is safe for us to re-open. This closure applies to all of our sites at the Museum & Art Gallery, Pickford's House and the Silk Mill.

This is a difficult time for us all, but the welfare of our visitors and staff must always come first. We have been welcoming visitors to Derby Museums to celebrate heritage, art and culture since 1879, and we will continue to do so by sharing our collections, programmes and ideas online.

We will be cancelling some of our upcoming events, so please keep an eye on our website and social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) for updates. If you have already booked a place at an upcoming event, we'll be in touch as soon as possible with more information.

Whilst our doors may be shut for a time, we'll be sharing some ideas about how you can still enjoy Derby Museums online, so please do keep in touch.

We would like to thank you all for your continued support, and, although we do not currently know when the museums will re-open, we look forward to welcoming you back in person very soon.

Wishing you all the very best. Take care and stay safe!
