Derby College Expands Residential provision

Derby College has expanded its residential accommodation offer to enable students from further afield to live at the Broomfield Hall campus in Morley seven days a week in term time.

The accommodation, which has an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted, is currently available Sunday evenings to Friday for students aged 16 and above.

The seven day accommodation will be available for students aged 18 and above.  This is particularly popular with higher education students on the BSc (Hons) Animal Management degree and the Foundation Degrees in Animal Management, Equine Studies and Sports Coaching as well as the golf and cycling specialist academies which attract students from across the UK.

Residential Wardens are on duty at all times and the students have access to a wide range of leisure facilities as well as organised events.

Head of Broomfield Eileen Swan said: “Our role is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for these young people who want to come to Broomfield to access our range of further and higher education specialist courses but who live too far away to travel here every day.
