Citibase Derby Doubles in Size in a Huge Vote of Confidence for the Derby Business Community

In a great boost to the Derby economy, a business centre in Derby’s St Peters Quarter has doubled in size just over a year after it first opened. To celebrate the unveiling of the additional space, the centre is offering some very special deals for new customers.

Citibase, the UK’s largest independent operator of fully-serviced business centres, opened its centre in Laurie House, Colyear Street just over 12 months ago and rapidly filled up with businesses ranging from web design and journalism to engineering, recruitment and health care.

Due to the phenomenal demand, an extra floor of Laurie House has now been fully refurbished as a state of the art and cost effective base for entrepreneurs, start-ups and businesses both small and large. Space is available to move in for just £2 per desk per day with additional offers until the end of October including up to two months free when signing a six or 12 month contract. There is also a special no-obligation two hour free meeting room hire offer so any local businesses can try out their great meeting room spaces for free.

Citibase Derby, with an eye catching giant LED-screen lit exterior, offers flexible contract terms for a range of high quality, fully furnished office spaces. Services include reception and administrative services, superfast internet and telecoms packages, meeting rooms, virtual offices, personalised call answering and car parking.*

Centre Manager Tom Smith said: “We’re delighted that we’ve quickly established ourselves as a vibrant part of the St Peters Quarter’s business community. Our success in providing what the local economy needs – cost effective and flexible serviced office space – has enabled us to double in size to meet the demand. And by offering a welcoming and hassle-free home to even more entrepreneurs and businesses bringing in several hundred workers to the area, it will also greatly benefit other established businesses in the locality and the wider Derby economy.”

Many offices in the additional floor were pre-let before opening such is the demand. A large new space on the new floor has been taken by one of Citibase’s existing customers, Jas Johal of Dublcheck Cleaning who first moved into a one person office last summer. Jas has expanded his company to take 23 desks in the newly refurbished 3rd floor and is a prime example of how Citibase helps incubate start-up and entrepreneurs, taking all the hassle of managing their office space off their hands, allowing them to focus 100% on growing and running their business. Jas said: “Only Citibase made it possible for us to move into high quality offices at excellent prices.

Being in an office environment as opposed to working from home has allowed us to grow our business, as a result we are now moving into a bigger office at Citibase and launching our second business venture. Tom, the centre manager, really understood our needs and was very helpful in giving us solutions.” Stephen Jeffery chairs the Board of St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) which is the area between Cathedral Quarter and Intu Derby shopping centre. He said: “This is excellent news for an area within St Peters Quarter which requires significant investment and regeneration. “We are delighted that Citibase has recognised that the central location of the premises is worthy of further expansion to attract further businesses into the area.”
