Derby Museums, in partnership with the Cathedral Quarter BID, are delighted to announce that the Derby Christmas Chilli Fiesta is set to return to the city on Saturday 1 December at the former central library building on The Wardwick.

The Derby Christmas Chilli Fiesta will be a day of chilli mayhem featuring some of the best chilli producers from around the UK, exhibiting a variety of chilli products from mild to extreme chilli sauces, chilli cheese, chilli oils, chilli merchandise and more. There will be something for every taste from the curious to the enthusiast with plenty of chillies to eat, drink, taste and buy.

For those brave enough there will be an opportunity to compete in the Clash of the Titans Chilli Eating competition – an eye watering contest where contestants will eat some of the hottest chillies around and be crowned Derby’s toughest!

Mohammed Suleman, Director of Resources at Derby Museums said:

“We’re delighted to welcome the Chilli Festival to Derby again, and to be able to host it in our magnificent new events space on The Wardwick. Last year, the event was a massive success and we had so many positive comments that we just had to bring it back.”

Alexander Mustang, founder of Chilli Fest UK said:

“We’re really excited to come to Derby again. Visitors from near and far came to support this fantastic event last year so we hope they will come again to sample some of the hottest sauces and chillies in the world. We’re also looking forward to finding out if the people of Derby can handle their chillies!”

Derby Christmas Chilli Fiesta will take place on Saturday 1 December 2018, between 10am and 4pm, at Derby Museums on The Wardwick (former central library). Entrance fee is £2.50 for over 16s. You can book your ticket ahead of the event at: www.bit.ly/DMChilliFestival.
