  • Looking for a special treat this Mother’s Day? Book a guided tour of the Museum of Making, telling Derby’s 300-year history of making and innovation, including a trip to the top of the tower (weather dependent).  Finish the afternoon with an indulgent Afternoon Tea from the River Kitchen.

  • Join professional artist Seiko Kinoshita for an Introduction to Weaving at the Museum of Making. In this creative workshop, Seiko will guide you through the process of making your own woven textile art, including building a simple frame, choosing your materials, and creating the finished piece. All levels of experience are welcome.

  • Enjoy crafts, games and stories inspired by Derby Museums' curious collections at Tots Make and Do. Celebrate British Science Week and learn about measuring by looking at some of the largest and smallest objects in the Museum. This drop-in session is suitable for ages 2-5 years.

  • Returning for 2022, the What If? Machine is a celebration of making, creating, designing and building! Come along to marvel at the ingenious contraptions created on the day, with a chance to get involved in making it's smaller but just as over-engineered cousin.
