Wathall’s Memorial Service Gives Families Time to Remember Loved Ones
A special early evening Service of Remembrance and Hope will be held at Derby Cathedral on Thursday December 8, organised by family-owned funeral directors, Wathall’s.
Wathall’s, which is Derby’s longest established independent funeral directors, has organised the memorial service since 2008 - inviting families who have lost loved ones during this and past years.
They will be joined by members of Dandelions Bereavement Support groups in Derby and Ashbourne as well as representatives from local churches, charities, hospitals and nursing homes.
Global Brands announce distribution centre expansion, adding 10 million bottles to warehouse capacity in £2 million development
- Following increased demand for the company’s drinks portfolio, Global Brands are expanding the Global Brands Distribution Centre, due to be completed in January 2023.
- 28,800 sqft of space will be added, increasing the size of the facilities from 152,000 sqft to 180,800 sqft.
- Storage capacity will increase from 30 million bottles to 40 million bottles stored, across 17,000 palettes. A further 30 people will be employed with the increase in capacity.
New Residency Artists announced at LEVEL Centre
In 2021 LEVEL Centre launched the Level Residency Lab, a research and development opportunity for professional artists who either identify as disabled or whose work has access at its heart. Since then, and with support from Arts Council England, LEVEL has supported 17 artists who have bold, ambitious ideas that strengthen the charity's mission to ‘Celebrate the Art that Difference Makes’ and bring high quality art to rural Derbyshire.

Join us for a great Christmas in Chesterfield
Chesterfield Borough Council is joining forces with Destination Chesterfield again this year to bring you a great selection of events and activities to enjoy in our town.
The Christmas in Chesterfield Campaign, called Everything for the Perfect Christmas, will run from Monday 14 November to 4 January 2023 and has been designed to include something for everyone.

Legacy continues at Croots Farm Shop as coppicing gets under way
Coppicing has recently got under way at Farnah House Farm – the home of popular Derbyshire farm shop Croots – as part of future sustainability plans.
Co-owner of Croots Farm Shop, Steve Croot helped to gain grant funding for the work before he sadly passed away last year.
His wife Kay, whose family own Farnah House Farm, on Wirksworth Road, Duffield, and who now runs Croots Farm Shop, said she was proud to be carrying on Steve’s legacy.
