Social media has changed the way we all connect, communicate and share information, this is particularly relevant when planning a destination to visit.

Local arts professional, Theresa Keogh, has been appointed as the first Festival Director of Derby Book Festival.  Now in its fourth year, Theresa will take the Festival to the next stage in its development. 

The Festival organisers have also announced the dates for the fourth Derby Book Festival.  Next year’s Festival will be held from Friday 1 June to Saturday 9 June 2018 in venues across the city and will again be organised in partnership with local organisations and businesses. 

A specially commissioned pavilion, multimedia music, award-winning contemporary folk, spellbinding storytelling, Gothic drama, and visual art of every shape and size are just some of the highlights at this year’s Wirksworth Festival, 8 - 24 September.

Guided walks, talks, a poetry evening and gardeners’ question time are some of the free, community-focused events that local people can look forward to as part of BogFest in Edale next month.

BogFest – taking place Thursday 21^st, Friday 22^nd and Saturday 23^rd September at venues throughout the Hope Valley village - is set to celebrate the iconic moorland of the Peak District and South Pennines.

Matinée, Arts Derbyshire’s dementia-friendly cinema programme, is recognising Alzheimer’s Month with screenings designed to support people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers.

One of the UK’s biggest outdoor classical concerts, the much-loved Darley Park Concert will be returning on Sunday 3 September in the stunning natural amphitheatre of Darley Park. The event is supported by Hannells Estates Agents, Flint Bishop Solicitors, HUUB, Mortgage Advice Bureau, PKF Cooper Parry, Specsavers and Stratstone BMW Derby.
