Carsington Water Wild Writing Workshops

Saturday 12th and 19th May 2018 10am-2pm I am inviting you to join me to take part in this exciting writing project at Carsington Water this spring. Carsington Water is 25 years old this year and I am working with local people to create a poetry trail to celebrate this beautiful landscape and its wildlife. If you are interested in nature and/or enjoy creative writing, this could be your chance to be published in an anthology later this year. We will be based in the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust's classroom at the Visitor Centre for a writing workshop, lots of creative activities as well as a wild walk. The itinerary for each of the workshops which will run on Saturday 12th and 19th May, will be as follows:

10.00 am Meet me at Carsington Visitor Centre Main Entrance. 10.15-10.30 - I will give you some background about Carsington Water, its history and wildlife and how it has inspired my writing over the last 25 years. I will read excerpts from my latest novel and have a chat about the local wildlife. 10.30-11.45 – Creative Writing workshop/readings 11.45-12.30 - Eat lunch (everyone will need to bring a packed lunch or visit the cafe) 12.30-14.00 - We will be going for a walk around Stones Island and visiting the outdoor classroom. We will draft pieces, eventually picking one for further editing. 14.00 - finish.
