BOLSOVER BRASS FESTIVAL TO BROADCAST AROUND THE WORLD

The annual Bolsover District Festival of Brass is set to take place on Sunday October 4th, and it will be broadcast live all over the globe for the first time in its history. First Art has teamed up with Bolsover District Council to offer an all-day live web-stream of the event as it happens, featuring live music and interviews with musicians.

The festival, which will be staged at Heritage High School in Clowne, attracts an international audience and is one of the UK’s leading Brass Band showcases – with over 40 bands and 2,000 musicians performing across a six section festival of music.

The festival will be broadcast on a new section of the First Art website ‘broadcast’, which will become a digital stage for local artists – with live videos, archive performance footage and webcasts. This channel will become integral in creating an arts hub for the people of the area, and raising the profile of our areas nationally and internationally.

The contest starts at 10AM with the broadcast going live at 9:45am. Just go to www.firstart.org.uk/broadcast login and enjoy.

The web-stream is part of First Art’s ongoing project across Ashfield, Bolsover, Mansfield and North-East Derbyshire which aims to make it easier for local people to access and enjoy arts experiences. The project is funded by Arts Council England, through its Creative People and Places programme.

Bolsover District Council, who organise the festival, are also working in partnership with 4barsrest.com who will present and act as hosts at the day's event, delivering live interactive discussions with musicians between performances.

The Festival of Brass live web-stream will be linked to the wider First Art Bolsover Stories Festival (which takes place in Bolsover Town on 16th and 17th October).
