MEMBER: Michela Griffith Creative Photography

Inspired by movement in nature, Michéla’s highly individual images interpret water and now land in a new, liquid, light.

Freed from the land that bounds it, the River Dove and the streams that feed it have a life of their own. Michela Griffith’s images reveal the beauty and diversity of water in motion, and its ever changing interaction with light, land and season. Although created in camera, they are often mistaken for paintings. Much of Michela’s inspiration is drawn from the area around the River Dove near her home in Longnor in the Peak District National Park.

In recent years, Michela’s photography has moved dramatically away from that which we commonly associate with landscape photography. She is no longer looking to record that which she sees, but to interpret it in an increasingly creative manner, to paint an impression that over time brings her a little closer to her own relationship with the land and with nature’s dynamic. Her images may even help you rediscover an area that we believe we know well.

Limited edition prints on fine art paper and cards can be ordered via Michéla’s website. Framed images are available to purchase locally.
