Aquabox are a registered charity which provides safe drinking water and the alleviation of suffering, through the supply of water filters and over 70 items of humanitarian aid, to communities such as Syrian refugee camps and villages in Nepal that have been afflicted by natural and man-made disasters. The Aquabox project is based in Wirlsworth and is run as a community project with over 80 volunteers who meet at the Aquabox depot to assemble filters, pack the Aquaboxes with humanitarian aid and arrange their shipment. The charity has been in operation for over 22 years during which time it has shipped over 100,000 boxes of aid to over 20 countries worldiwide
