BROKEN INSTRUMENTS

Storytelling & Music
Open Road Music Presents Broken Instruments at Melbourne Festival Fringe.
The story of Broken Instruments was inspired by the book “Violins of Hope” by James A. Grymes. It exists in various forms, including a novella and an audio play. Broken Instruments tells the story of fictional character Ari Vander and how the music of the violin saved his life, and the lives of many others during the Holocaust. The events to which he relates, really did happen.
The idea to create this performance piece came from accomplished musician and song writer Phil Baggaley. He invited actor and writer William Varnam to work with him to produce a story and a script. Together with vocalist Nina Blaszczyk they have now collaborated with theatre maker and director Daniel Ellis to stage a theatre experience of the show which premiered at DEDA Theatre. Invitations are now coming from far and wide for the production around the UK.
Join Phil Baggaley, Bill Varnam and Nina Blaszczyk for a unique theatre experience of storytelling, music and songs.
