Get the Whole Family Drawing and Doodling at Déda this June

Déda is excited to welcome The Doodle Dance Show, an interactive story-show which promises to entertain the whole family on Friday 3 June.   

Produced by Greenwich Dance, and created by award-winning performers Anna Williams (Russell Maliphant, La Ribot) and Tom Roden (New Art Club), The Doodle Dance Show will get the whole family drawing, dancing, doodling and story-telling together.

LEST WE FORGET by James Beagon at Buxton Fringe

From award-winning writer James Beagon, one family struggles to reconcile memories of their son with the truth in the aftermath of WW1. When Harry Ashwood was killed in battle, he was hailed as a hero. His surviving siblings are left with only their memories and the task of caring for their ageing mother. She relentlessly campaigns against the army for the right to bring her beloved boy home to rest. But is the mud of the Somme masking the man he truly was?
            

Music in the Café at Buxton Festival

Buxton Festival which takes place from 8 – 24 July will again feature Music in the Café at Pavilion Gardens. The relaxed concerts which feature jazz, folk and Eastern European music start at 9pm, tickets are £20.

'CHAPLIN - The Charlie Chaplin Story'

Steven Arnold (best know for his long term “butcher’s son” character ‘Ashley Peacock’ in CORONATION STREET) stars as Charlie Chaplin’s brother in this heart-warming and hilarious musical about the first true British icon of Cinema, performed on Sunday 12th June at Buxton Opera House.
 
Steven is joined onstage by Nicole Faraday (Bad Girls / Emmerdale), Helena Gullan (‘Once’- London’s West End) and a cast of 6 West End actor-musicians who play over 20 instruments live onstage!
 

500 small figures hidden at Mill

A massive installation using threads is being woven around Strutt’s North Mill’s supporting structure by artist Tan Draig OBE. But hidden within the web-like installation will be 500 miniscule ‘workers’.

Mass Choirs in ‘Summer Harmony’ Concert to Raise Funds for the John Eastwood Hospice

Mansfield & District Male Voice Choir and the Pye Hill and District Male Voice Choir are to hold a much awaited joint concert which will raise funds in support of the vital work of the John Eastwood Hospice at the United Reform Church, High Pavement, Sutton in Ashfield on Saturday 11 June.

Bakewell’s 14th International Day of Dance

For one day every year, the picturesque town of Bakewell hosts a stunning celebration of world music and dance, heralding the start of Bakewell Carnival Week. On Saturday 25th June up to 30 groups will be displaying dance styles from around the world at 8 outdoor venues from 11.00am to 4.30pm.
