On 10th November, Derby Museums aims to repeat last year’s success of raising £11,500, which was then doubled by the Heritage Lottery Fund with this year’s Celestial Ball.
The UK Theatre Awards are on the hunt again to find the UK's Most Welcoming Theatre 2018. We may have been pipped to the post last year, but we are back in the running this year, however we need your help.
Catering companies and organisations are being encouraged to find out more about opportunities in Chesterfield and Matlock.
Derbyshire County Council is looking to develop the café and catering services at its headquarters in Matlock and at Chesterfield Library and would like to hear from companies and organisations interested in providing these services.
Anyone interested is invited to attend two open days where they will be able to view the sites and ask questions.
Twenty volunteers from across the UK have joined members of Derby and Sandiacre Canal Trust to complete the restoration of a key part of the former Derby Canal.
The Trust raised over £4,000 through a Crowdfunder appeal, match funding from Derby City Council and support from Community Action Derby for the restoration project.
By popular demand, The Derby Conference Centre is once again offering weddings as part of their event services. In order to keep pace with this demand, the Centre has announced the arrival of a new Wedding & Events Coordinator, Jessica Wood.
Jessica will be heavily involved in generating enquiries and planning weddings at The Derby Conference Centre, meeting with prospective couples to ensure their service meets and exceeds their expectations. Jessica expressed:
intu Derby is bringing the Great British seaside to the centre this summer, with an indoor beach and calendar of exciting activities lined up.
Open from 10am to 4pm until Monday 3 September, intu Derby’s indoor beach will also host a variety of free fun to keep the little ones entertained.
On Tuesday 14 August, visitors can cool off with free sweet treats and icy delights from the beach’s ice cream bike.
