In September 2020 Derby Museums will open the new Museum of Making in Derby featuring, at its heart, some astonishing objects that have shaped the world in which we live. One of the stand-out objects is the Eagle Engine, which helped to power the first transatlantic flight by Alcock and Brown 100 years ago on June 14^th and 15^th 1919.

Opening nights are always special – but on Friday, 21st June, the performance of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown at New Mills Art Theatre, marks the first musical to be produced on the Art Theatre stage since the wonderful refurbishment of the auditorium, featuring the golden velvet seats gifted from Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Try Writing for Wellbeing at Chesterfield Library. Using a series of fun and engaging prompts, you’ll be encouraged to unlock your imagination and put pen to paper. Working within a safe and respectful space, therapeutic writing can open the door to new voices, ideas and points of view that widen and deepen our own perspective, as well as offering a sense of achievement. No previous knowledge or experience of writing is needed, writers of all levels of experience are welcome. You should be aged 18 years and above. All writing materials will be provided.
