Construction Competition Success

Derby College Group (DCG) apprentice Jack Ellis (pictured left) has clinched a silver medal in the national finals of the Guild of Bricklayers skills competition held in Liverpool.

Jack Ellis (18) from Brailsford, who works for Neil Building and Joinery Services, qualified for the prestigious competition after winning the regional senior competition held recently at Grantham College.

DCG Chosen as SEND Centre for Excellence

Derby College Group (DCG) has been chosen as one of three Centres for Excellence in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) under a new national programme.

DCG will work alongside The Education and Training Foundation (ETF), City College Norwich and Weston College on the Department for Education (DfE) funded programme.

GO WILD AND FREE AT THE ADVENTURE FEST

Adventure seekers can experience the great outdoors at the annual Adventure Fest held at Pleasley Vale Outdoor Activity Centre – and it’s all free!

Mountain biking, climbing, laser quest, KMXing, kayaking, canoeing, orienteering and a whole host of countryside activities will be on offer as Bolsover District Council stage their annual Adventure Fest on Sunday 14 July 2019.

The Council’s Extreme Wheels Roadshow will also be there hosting activities such as BMX biking, skateboarding, BMX sidehacks and slacklining.

“We took “Between Us” to Buxton Fringe in 2018, and two of the three performances coincided with the World Cup semi-finals!” said Sheffield actress Rachel E. Thorn. “The whole country was gripped by football fever.”
