TILL DEATH DO US ART, a creative exploration of loss & grief

23 - 24 November 2019, Lea Green, Derbyshire

A Potting Shed event for therapists, counsellors and mental health professionals; offering a creative weekend exploring death, loss and grief, its implications for work and impact on self-care. Facilitated by Bethan Baëz-Devine & Sharon Herriot, experienced Art Psychotherapists and passionate trainers who will provide you with a safe, nurturing and containing space.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FOR CHILDREN IN CARE WORKSHOP - 17 July

Active Derbyshire and Derbyshire County Council have been working together to look at how physical activity can support the lives of children in care and their carers. An Active Fostering Workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 17 at Coney Green Business Centre in Clay Cross from 1.30pm to 4pm; it is to explore how children in care and their carers can better access physical activity .

VOLUNTEERS FOR ARTS PROJECTS, NOTTINGHAM - applications by 15 July

Are you over 55, friendly, enthusiastic and passionate about creativity? There are several opportunities to work with City Arts on two arts projects aimed at engaging people aged 55+. They are looking for people who have an interest in the arts and ‘creative ageing’ and are asking you to commit a small amount of your time until 2021.

Family Arts Workshop with Junction Arts

Junction Arts are hosting a day of family arts workshops on the 7th August. This workshop is designed for adults and children to take part in together; make a beautiful decoupage lantern with expert guidance and support arts and culture in Chesterfield.

No experience needed, all equipment provided and refreshments and snacks supplied!

Tickets for adults are £10 and children £5, all money goes towards Junction Arts’ mission of bringing high quality arts and culture to everyone.

E4E Inaugural Event Celebrates Inspirational Partnerships

A Derby City Council organisation which works to inspire young people to aim higher and achieve their potential held its first event to celebrate young people’s progress, schools’ commitment and local businesses’ support.

Enterprise for Education (E4E) is a not-for-profit partnership between Derby City Council and key local businesses.

It brings employers into city schools to provide inspiration and share real-world careers experience through personal mentoring, mock interviews, career search support, careers events and industry visits.

Little Lonsdale Swimmers Take the Plunge

Two young swimmers at Lonsdale Pool in Mickleover have secured distance badges as part of their lesson programme at the pool.

Four-year-old Freya Devitt achieved an impressive 25m badge recently and Tobias Mangnall gained his 5m badge ahead of his third birthday.

Both were cheered on by their family and teachers at the pool where they attend weekly lessons.

Freya’s mum Lianne said: “Freya was over the moon when she gained her 25m badge and we are all so proud of her.
