DERBY ARBORETUM ARTISTS’ RESIDENCIES 2019-21

We are seeking initial expressions of interest from artists who would value a period of time in the Orangery to create and/or exhibit work. The artists would also be able to offer a Friday workshop. Over the next few years Arts and Wellbeing organisation All Being Well will be hosting the artist's residency programme on the park. All Being Well are in the process of writing a funding bid which will be adapted in accordance with successful applications.

Derby Ram Trail launched

Bondholder Derby Museums are seeking support from the local business community for the Derby Ram Trail; an amazing public art event threaded across the city next summer in support of the Museums Trust.

Launched today, The Derby Ram Trail will consist of around 30, five-foot high fibreglass sculptures in the shape of Derby’s mythical Ram.

Marketing Derby's latest film has been launched to showcase the purpose of the organisation, the breadth and depth of its activities to date and the impact the company has had creating 1,354 jobs and contributing £333.09m in GVA in the last three years.

Produced by Bondholder Purpose Media, the film will be used by the investment promotion agency for Derby and Derbyshire with investors, Bondholders and key stakeholders.

Safe and Sound Appoint Fundraising Lead

Derby-based specialist child exploitation charity Safe and Sound has made a key appointment to enable future service expansion.

Tom Stanyard has been appointed Head of Fundraising at Safe and Sound which is the only local charity focused on transforming the lives of children and young people who are victims of or at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation, commonly referred to as CSE.

Mr Stanyard joins Safe and Sound from Rainbows Hospice in Loughborough where he was Corporate Partnership Fundraiser with previous experience in sales and business development.

Derby Property Summit Special

Over 350 senior-level delegates from the property sector attended this week's  Derby Property Summit to hear a line-up of national and international speakers and panellists discuss the challenge of reimagining towns and cities.

Opening the Summit John Forkin, Managing Director at Marketing Derby, said "The way communities use their high streets is changing and towns and cities need to work out how to continue to evolve. The purpose of place is to create a customer  - we have to change the mix to make our cities and towns attractive places in which to live, work and to visit."

Vibrant programme announced for this year’s Hannells Darley Park Concert

The much-loved Hannells Darley Park Concert, one of the UK’s biggest outdoor classical concerts, will be returning on Sunday 1 September to the stunning natural amphitheatre of Darley Park. This year’s event will be supported by Hannells, Derby Telegraph, Flint Bishop Solicitors, Homes 2 Opportunities, HUUB, Mobile Solutions, Mortgage Advice Bureau, Stratstone BMW Derby and WDS Limited.
