Classical Treat In Store For Cathedral Concert Goers

Having launched the Autumn season with another outstanding performance in front of a 20,000-strong audience at Darley Park on September 1, award winning Sinfonia Viva will return to the city on Wednesday October 23 for an evening performance at Derby Cathedral.

Under the baton of Principal Conductor Frank Zielhorst, the programme starts with one of Mozart’s most quintessential and famous works Symphony No.40. This iconic piece was composed in 1788 and continues to feature heavily in film and television scores to this day.

Derbys Finest Supports Women’s Professional Development

Derbys Finest - a group which aims to inspire, celebrate and support women across the county - is planning an event as part of its commitment to support female leaders of the future.

The group will hold its first professional development session at the University of Derby Law School in Agard Street on Monday October 28.

Open to women from all industry and community sectors, the three-hour event will include sessions on leadership and mentoring as well as opportunities to network with fellow attendees.

DANCING FOR HEALTH - NORTH DERBYSHIRE – starts 18 September

Dancing for Health are pleased to announce the introduction of a series of partner dance classes aimed at those living in outreach and rural communities in North Derbyshire. CEO, Tracey Barnes will be piloting the twelve week course and intends to offer places primarily to individuals residing in the Loundsley Green and Holme Hall area. The partner dance classes will be provided at a reduced cost of £3 and are suitable for people of all ages and abilities

Writing for Wellbeing workshop with Leonie Martin. Saturday 5th October 10:30 - 12:30 at Chesterfield Library.

Try Writing for Wellbeing at Chesterfield Library. Using a series of fun and engaging prompts, you’ll be encouraged to unlock your imagination and put pen to paper. Working within a safe and respectful space, therapeutic writing can open the door to new voices, ideas and points of view that widen and deepen our own perspective, as well as offering a sense of achievement. No previous knowledge or experience of writing is needed, writers of all levels of experience are welcome. You should be aged 18 years and above. All writing materials will be provided.

Regional Employers Inspire Future IT Stars

A former Derby College Group (DCG) IT student has returned to the Digital Communications Academy at the Joseph Wright post 16 Academic and Arts college to inspire young people at the start of their further education careers.

Craft Fair at Belper leisure centre in December

Small Business 100 Cattermole Electrical - Monday 16 September

In the 100 days running up to Small Business Saturday, the campaign will spotlight each of the Small Biz 100 as part of its mission to celebrate and support small businesses. Each company has been allocated a day where celebrations will focus on them and they will be profiled in the media and on Small Business Saturday's social media pages.

Judges will look for businesses that have demonstrated strong revenue growth and a product or service of a quality that stands above competitors. #FSBConnect Midlands Meet Up at the Festival of Enterprise

We're holding our third annual Midlands Meet Up at this year's Festival of Enterprise at 10am on 23 October. Made In Derby Stars to be unveiled

Ten new 'Made in Derby' plaques celebrating the achievements of some of the people who have helped put Derby and Derbyshire on the world map will be unveiled in the city's Market Place and on Iron Gate on Saturday 14th September.

This is phase 2 of 'Made in Derby' - a trail of mosaic and cast iron plaques which can be brought to life via augmented reality using a smartphone app - with a Walk of Fame already embedded on Albion Street and Exchange Street.
