Top 200 unveiled

New research has been published by Bondholder the University of Derby ranking Derby and Derbyshire’s top 200 most successful businesses.

The league table, compiled on behalf of the Derby Telegraph by academics from the university’s Business School, shows the biggest contributors to the region’s economy.

HOWZAT – HSG Confirms Continued Support For SCC

Derby-based Hygiene Services Group (HSG) have confirmed its eighth consecutive year of support for trophy-winning Spondon Cricket Club.

HSG initially supported the club in Locko Road by supplying the innovative Ureco water conservation system and providing washroom services for the clubhouse as part of SCC’s commitment to improving its environmental credentials.

The relationship has since developed to HSG being the club’s main sponsor. 

Lloyd’s of London Adopt HSG’s Innovative System

The world-famous Lloyd’s building in London’s main financial district is the latest to reap the environmental benefits and cost savings of an innovative washroom water conservation system developed by Derby-based Hygiene Services Group (HSG).

The 14-storey Grade I listed building, is home to the iconic Lloyd’s of London insurance institution with hundreds of people based there.

Dr Ben Lamb, with the help of the ‘lab’ – Bagheera – explores the history and impact of TV crime drama from Dixon of Dock Green to Happy Valley at this year’s Repton Literary Festival  (25 – 27 October).

Top crime writers, actors and academics are planning a heist at this year’s Repton Literary Festival this October. They will take over part of the three day event to explore everything that is good about British crime drama. 

Giant Balloons, a Mini Rave and Early Years’ Dance Show at Déda’s Family Arts Festival this November

This November sees the return of Déda’s annual family arts festival. The festival runs from Thursday 31 October until Sunday 2 November with a selection of shows and events perfect for grown-ups and younger ones alike.

Opening the festival is the venue’s brand new Dinky Disco for mini ravers. Taking place on Thursday 31 October from 2-4pm, the disco Halloween special will feature creepy crafts, face painting, apple bobbing and make your own goo! All ages are welcome and under 1s go free.

of Florence Nightingale.

 

'Kissing Miss Nightingale's Shadow' is a new play in which Florence talks about her life, her beliefs and Victorian society.

'Kissing Miss Nightingale's Shadow' will be performed throughout Derbyshire between May 2020 and May 2021.

Otherlings Exhibition Launch and Artist Talk

Otherlings is an exhibition featuring work from Ang Bartram, Steve Baker, Huw Davies and Phil Basi, Paula McCloskey and Sam Vardy, Stephanie Rushton and Mally Mallinson, Craig Fisher and Christine Parker. The overarching theme of the artworks within the exhibition suggests something beyond the parameters of dominancy and its cultural representation.
