A new £2 million fund is being launched to help organisations at the frontline of tackling loneliness across the country. The funding aims to support frontline, grassroots organisations that bring people together and help them build social connections - these could include community cafés, street parties, coffee mornings or local walking groups.

Local groups and organisations with great ideas to make their communities even better places to live are invited to apply for Active Communities funding to turn their ideas into reality.

Applications are welcomed from any voluntary or community group in the Dales, or a Community Interest Company, that might offer something such as activities, support or even a one-off presentation about the Five Ways to Wellbeing. Groups can apply for a grant of up to £1,000.
A small grants scheme for voluntary and community groups in the Derbyshire Dales: groups can apply for up to £1,000 of revenue costs such as room hire, activities or sessional worker costs and up to £5,000 of capital costs such as repairs to a village hall or improving a community space.
