Ringing the changes at Buxton Fringe

A new team (pictured) assembled at Buxton Fringe’s AGM at The Green Man Gallery on November 21 as Stephen Walker took on the role of Fringe Chair while Gary Bellas became Treasurer and Gaye Chorlton was appointed Secretary. Maria Carnegie was re-elected as Vice Chair.

Launch of Double Life Novel by Derbyshire Based Novelist Narvel Annable

It is 1995.  A long serving history master, a shell of his former self, is alone in an empty classroom in a rough North Nottinghamshire comprehensive school in an ultra conservative colliery town.  He is recovering from a severe breakdown which destroyed his credibility and confidence leaving him depressed and disorientated.  Some pupils and staff had turned this sad case into an object of fun inflicting humiliating hurtful episodes.  A steady torturous drip made his position untenable.  He was unable to discharge professional duties.  Effectively, gay hate had terminated a teaching career.

Well, Dam! Event 30 November

A poetry Reading from the brand new anthology from Beautiful Dragons Collaborations will be held  at the Pump Room at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday 30 November. Entry is free. Donation for drinks. Books will be on sale.

Before the flick of a faucet brought clean clear water to throat and pore, humans didn’t take the original pure drop for granted. We delighted in it’s vital wonder; gave springs nymphs, crowned well-heads with flowers. Blessed ourselves with it.

His first year in charge has marked some big changes at the Conference Centre, with Hutchings’ leadership taking the venue from strength to strength.
