Rural Growth Programme Fund

Closing Date: Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 16th February 

A new round of this fund has recently opened which covers rural capital projects - minimum grant £20,000, maximum c.£170,000. The emphasis is on businesses and job creation, but rural tourist attractions, such as museums and heritage centres, can also apply.
The scheme has 3 themes:

1.       Tourism.

2.       Small/medium businesses.

3.       Food processing.

EXCITING JOB OPPORTUNITY!

Fundraising /Development Post – One day per week, starting June 1st 2020 
 
An exciting new three year role at High Peak Community Arts, the successful applicant will be responsible for raising the match funding needed for Project eARTh (arts and health programme) and revenue funding for High Peak Community Arts. The role will also include exploration of local / regional developments in arts and health and social prescribing.  

New concept offices open in city

Cubo, a brand new concept in co-working space, has opened its doors in Derby city centre - and welcomed its first cohort of tenants.

Bondholder Staton Young has spent more than £750,000 on the transformation of the grade II listed Old Post Office building in Victoria Street – which it has chosen as the first location for its new serviced office offer because of the city’s growing need for grade A office space, and its dynamic and creative workforce.

Investment partners announced for city living

Bondholder Wavensmere Homes has announced its strategic partnership with BBS Capital and Cedar Group to deliver 474 homes (125 townhouses and 349 apartments) over three phases on the Nightingale Quarter residential scheme in Derby city centre.

The scheme will be supported by a £42.9m development finance facility from London-based Urban Exposure.

Shortlist announced for Derby Children’s Picture Book Award

Four books have been shortlisted for the second Derby Book Festival Children’s Picture Book Award, which aims to celebrate picture books that children can relate to and in which the diversity and challenges of modern life are represented.  Fourteen Derby primary school teachers selected the books from the original longlist of nine.
