Buxton Fringe announces new appointments

Buxton Fringe announced two new appointments at its recent Annual General Meeting, held via Zoom this year.

Viv Marriott was voted in as Vice-Chair while Sandra Jowett became Treasurer. Stephen Walker was re-elected as Chair with Gaye Chorlton staying as Secretary. Former Vice-Chair, Maria Carnegie, a long-standing Fringe committee member, remains a trustee of the charity.

Festive Derby will be worth the wait

Christmas is still coming to Derby, just a little later than planned due to the new Government restrictions. Plans for Festive Derby will be going ahead in December, with attractions that were due to happen this month being put on hold until the current lockdown lifts.

Matinée Outreach Project for isolated people living with dementia

As we head into Winter, why not try something creative and new from the safety of your own home?

Do you live with dementia, or care for someone living with dementia?

Have you felt socially isolated and not comfortable using online technology?

Have you been frustrated over lockdown by the lack of activities you can do, and missed learning and trying new things?

Matinée Outreach is an arts-based project for people living with dementia (and their carers) who are isolated by Covid19 and not comfortable with online activities.

The past eight months has seen disaster and innovation within the regional food & drink sector, possibly in equal measure. We have witnessed the rise and fall of our artisan cheesemakers and watched with sadness as our cousins in food service saw their trade plummet overnight.

This has been balanced by independent retailers attracting new customers, adopting the internet as a tool to keep them, and unearthing previously unknown suppliers from their area to broaden the retail offer.
