Chesterfield’s 1940s Market returns during half term with lots of entertainers for the whole family to enjoy.
Taking place on Thursday 28 October between 10am and 4pm, visitors can enjoy 40s music, entertainment, exhibits and meet the stall holders in period dress.
Residents and visitors can get into the festive spirit as Chesterfield’s annual Christmas Lights Switch On returns for 2021.
There will be a variety of entertainers performing throughout the day and a market that will allow shoppers to grab a Christmas bargain. The event takes place on Sunday 21 November from 12 noon to early evening, with the switch on happening at 4.45pm.

A Hayward Gallery Touring exhibition exploring gender and identity from French female photographer Claude Cahun is due to open at Derby Museums later this week, on tour from the Southbank Centre, London.
The Ritz Cinema in Belper has two Dementia Friendly, accessible film screenings coming up.
The lights will be left on low and you are free to talk, move around or sing along!

On Saturday 23 October, the Museum of Making opens its doors to celebrate makers and all things making with Assemble, Derby’s Making Festival.
Arts 4 Dementia’s Early-Stage Dementia Awareness Training for Arts and Heritage Organisations enables facilitators and institutions to increase their impact in the community, reach new audiences, and develop an inclusive model of working which engages people living with dementia.
The 2021 Supreme Champion and 16 Golden Forks were announced last night at Fine Food Show North.
Guests at Sunday evening's awards ceremony enjoyed canapés incorporating several of this year's Great Taste award-winning products, live jazz and the chance to taste many of the nominees and eventual winners of this year's Golden Forks.
Junction Arts have been working in partnership with Hardwick Hall, artists and the community throughout the year to create a unique artwork inspired by Hardwick's history and collections.
