Project eARTh call out for artists

Opportunities for freelance artists : deadline 4th March 2019

Background:

Project eARTh (Environmental Art and Health) is a project is for adults experiencing mental distress or other long term conditions or physical impairments. 

We run projects in which the participants work collectively to create artworks – usually  for the community – installed in public spaces, indoors or out.

Each project is led by an experienced professional community artist, supported by mental health staff and volunteers.

"Reflecting Fridas " by Ana Maria Lines

On Friday the 1st of March, at 7.15pm in the Imperial Rooms, Imperial Road, Matlock, DE4 3NL

In anticipation of International Womens Day on the 8th March we bring you 'Reflecting Fridas'. The life and work of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo are the inspiration for the show created and performed by Brazilian storyteller Ana Maria Lines. Frida's soul echos in many of us. Frida's diversities, love, injuries, suffering were the subject for her work An unique life , an exceptional woman.

Creative Journeys Shortlisted For National Award

A pioneering music project, involving Derby-based orchestra of the East Midlands Sinfonia Viva, has been shortlisted for a national award.

‘Creative Journeys’ has been a partnership between Orchestras Live, Essex County Council Cultural Development team, Sinfonia Viva, Green Candle, Age Exchange,  Magic Me and Anglia Ruskin University.

It has involved creative workshops at care homes in Essex and was designed to develop relationships between older people, care workers and their surrounding communities.
