Workshop opportunity to dancers and performers across the East Midlands.

Deda and Derby Theatre in partnership with National Dance Company Wales are offering an exciting workshop opportunity to dancers and performers across the East Midlands.

Dance groups are invited to book a free workshop with NDCWales Dance Ambassador Kerryn Wise. The workshops will comprise contemporary dance and physical theatre to explore the themes and processes of NDCWales work, using creative tasks used by resident choreographer Caroline Finn to develop choreographic material for Folk. Caroline has recently choreographed for BBC Young Dancer of the Year finalist and also created Bloom with Phoenix Dance Theatre, she was a winner of the Matthew Bourne New Adventures Choreographer award in 2014.

Participants will learn small sections of repertoire and then be encouraged to develop these using tasks and choreographic devices. This is an amazing opportunity for your students to gain insight into the company’s choreographic processes and methodologies, and to link creative processes to performance outcomes.

In exchange for the free workshop we ask groups to commit to booking tickets to come and see NDCWales performing their amazing triple bill Terra Firma at Derby Theatre on Tuesday 8th May 2018 at 7.30pm. We are offering a special discounted price of £10 per ticket (reduced from £16) for workshop groups.
