Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service has a 25.9 hour per week (0.7 fte) vacancy for a Programme Development Worker (PDW) based at our Cotmanhay and Ilkeston centre.

The PDW posts carry out a wide range of duties supporting the development of programmes, management of delivery staff, promotion and improvement of teaching and learning within DACES provision, liaising with partner agencies and families and monitoring achievement and progression. This includes:

Community learning - Engaging people in learning, supporting progression to other learning, to improve life chances and enhance independence including family learning and learning for personal development and wellbeing. Provision that includes self-financing or full-cost provision across the whole curriculum, learning clubs, programme for local businesses, voluntary sector and other public sector organisations.

Qualification learning - Development and delivery of employability and qualifications up to Level 2 for adults, including supporting 14-19 programme and adult learner loans provision; to prepare people and help them get into work.

This post will primarily focus on widening participation in learning, improving attainment and increasing skills and personal resilience of learners via focused provision within the designated Thriving Community area in Cotmanhay.

A casual car user allowance is attached to this post but it is possible for the allowance to be converted to other forms of transport where there is a requirement to undertake travel as part of this post.

Learner Support Assistants

Learner Support Assistant Relief role to support learners in online and face to face classes at our DACES Centres across the County.

Learner Support Assistants work with direction from tutors to support individuals on current learning programmes.

Candidates should have enthusiasm and energy, have excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to empathise, have a non-judgemental approach and have good organisation and time management skills.

Derbyshire Adult Community Education Service (DACES) is looking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced tutors to work in our centres across Derbyshire and online, to teach the following subjects:

 

  • ICT – Digital Skills – from short workshops to full EDSQ Gateway qualifications
  • ALDD – Adults with Learning Difficulties / Disabilities – short courses to full OCR qualifications
  • Art – Entry level 3 to level 2 qualifications
  • Counselling – level 1 to level 3 qualifications
  • BSL - British Sign Language – entry level 3 qualifications upward

Once appointed to the tutor pool tutors can build a working pattern to suit on a course by course basis.  This makes this role ideal for both those who only want to work a few hours a week and those who want to build a more substantive role and timetable of classes.
