Moving on theatre who specialise in shows about artists with mental illness are bringing their best selling show “ María” the life loves and music of Callas to the Rotunda theatre 11th-13th July

“ We are really excited to be performing in Buxton as this show is about the most famous opera singer of all time and we have been getting standing ovations and amazing feedback” says Laurene Hope Glory who recovered from Bpd in a therapeutic community on the NHS and has been running Moving on theatre since 2012

She plays Callas and is joined by Martín Ottewill as Onassis and Francis Kenny as Tita and cameo roles Laurene who plays the Diva from the tender age of 10 years old through the war in Greece and sings the arias live says:”

We sold out Edinburgh Henley and Brighton and got 5 star reviews for Piaf and we hope to repeat our great success in Buxton too

And I am excited to be performing at the Rotunda as I was born in the Rotunda hospital so it may be the rebirth of our theatre company since I had an accident and was in a wheelchair last year so we are moving on again now I can walk again to better things”

Here is a great testimonial

"A brave, passionate, pitilessly truthful portrayal of the legendary, tragic Diva. Laurene Hope brilliantly captures the multiplicity of conflicting personalities which was the Callas phenomenon - sad, painful, saucy and occasionally hilarious this five-star show is also graced with some great operatic singing. In short, Laurene Hope IS Callas."
