TWO by Jim Cartwright in partnership with Dancing Duck Brewery

Derby Theatre Friday 2 until Saturday 24 March

Derby Theatre and award-winning Derby brewery Dancing Duck have announced an innovative partnership. From Friday 2 to Saturday 24 March the stage and auditoria of Derby Theatre will be transformed into a pub for the Theatre’s big production for the spring, Jim Cartwright’s highly acclaimed comedy TWO.
During the interval of TWO the stage set will transform into a public bar, serving a specially brewed beer by Dancing Duck. Derby Theatre audiences (and customers at some of Dancing Duck’s usual outlets) will be able to enjoy limited-edition ‘Dramatic Duck’, a 4.1% hoppy pale ale.

Audience members can experience Derby Theatre’s production of TWO like no other show at the Theatre before, by booking exclusive on-stage Experience Seats, a unique chance to be immersed in the production and get up close and personal to the actors and the wonderfully authentic stage set, designed in great detail to replicate a traditional pub of the period.
The experience seats will also include a drink of Dramatic Duck from the on-stage working bar before the show (available on Monday – Thursday performances) and on Friday and Saturday performances, there will be an extra special opportunity to enjoy a pre-theatre meal (plus a drink) in the cosy surroundings of the Theatre’s ‘local’ on the main stage. There are just 24 Experience Seats available per performance, so early booking is strongly recommended.

David Brownlee (Head of Development, Derby Theatre said): “We’re delighted to be celebrating our new production of TWO with the support of Dancing Duck. We’re not aware of any theatre production that has had a brew specially created in its honour, and we expect a great night of

entertainment, coupled with a very special pint, will prove a winning combination. Rachel and her team have been incredibly helpful in working with us to overcome the logistical challenges of turning a stage set into a real ale bar. We hope this kind of innovative partnership will be a model for future creative initiatives at Derby Theatre to work with and support local businesses.”
Rachel Matthews (Founder of Dancing Duck) said: “We were delighted to be asked to partner Derby Theatre on their production of TWO, it's going to be a unique experience for the audience to have a live bar on the set, and we are very excited about it.
Our specially brewed pale ale will be available both from the traditional handpull on stage and in bottles, it’s going to be great.
We love working with local companies and have showcased our beers in the Theatre bar for several years and can't wait to get this latest brew in for people to try.”
