Save the date- ‘‘Delivering Writing Workshops’ with Emma Pass

Ilkeston Library

Saturday 9th March 2019, 10.00am to 1.00pm

Are you a writer interested in starting to facilitate writing workshops or perhaps you are an experienced facilitator looking to refresh your skills and share exercise ideas with fellow writers? In this session we will cover the nuts and bolts of planning and running a creative writing workshop, with practical exercises for you to have a go at. We'll also discuss what to do when things don't go quite as expected.

Emma Pass | Author, Mentor and Creative Writing Workshop Facilitator has been running regular creative writing workshops since 2010 in schools, libraries, universities and community settings. These are aimed at writers from all backgrounds and of all ability levels, including young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and who speak English as a second language. Having witnessed firsthand the difference having a creative outlet can make to people's lives, she believes it is vital to basic wellbeing, and that the arts should be accessible to everyone. Emma is a young adult writer whose novels Acid and The Fearless have both been nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal.
