Reimagine from Artcore

In January, we started some very exciting workshops with Year Three students at Pear Tree Junior School as part of the Reimagine Project which is taking place with partners and organisations across the city of Derby and led by Derby Theatre.

The students are working with artists Dr. Chris Wright and Connie Burley looking at the themes of Home and Identity.  There have been some great activities such as creating a self-portrait and a Coat of Arms and using television to help think about kindness.  It has been interesting to deliver the sessions online but we have had lots of very chatty and enthusiastic students taking part from the classroom and from home too.  Both the artists, the school and students have been amazing at adapting to everything being done virtually!   

The final session with Pear Tree Junior School will be later in the month and everyone is looking forward to piecing the work from the previous workshops together to create a final interactive experience.  Watch this space!!
