The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in Derbyshire Libraries

Derbyshire Library Service is helping to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a range of events in libraries across Derbyshire.

'Right Royal Stories' for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee throughout June

Backed by Derbyshire’s own storytelling production company Adverse Camber, join two of the Midlands’ most courtly and courteous storytellers, Rachel Murray and Tim Ralphs on a journey to discover Queens and Kings, Princesses and Princes from across time and around the world!

A superbly spun selection of stories, rummaged from the imaginatively rich libraries of folktale and legend, as well as episodes from the history of our very own isles, will magic you away to a place where you imagine yourself sitting on a throne, and even begin to uncover your own inner royal!

‘Right Royal Stories’ events are being hosted, free of charge, at the following libraries:

Royal Memories Collection

This is a chance for everyone to contribute memories of royal occasions and celebrations to be included in the archives at the Derbyshire Record Office. Post a memory in the collection box at your local library or use our online form to share your royal memories.

Design a celebratory flag

This is a competition encouraging children to create a royal flag.

There are 3 age categories (6 and under, 7-11 and 12-16) and the closing date is 30 April. We're asking children to submit entries to their local library on a sheet of A4 white paper.
