New Mills Festival News

New Mills Festival News

Ok all you fabulous people, artists, organisers, audiences, partners, contractors, vendors and volunteers. In these uncertain times, it’s good for the soul to have something to look forward to, and the Festival Team, like everyone else, is really looking forward to the time when we can meet up with friends and family again.
The current situation means that it is becoming increasingly difficult for us to plan and we now think that the Festival, including the Art Trail & Big Weekend, cannot go ahead in its usual format in September, but we’re adapting to the peculiarities that 2020 is throwing at us! Here's what's different:

  • As we don't know what the world will look like by September, we're encouraging virtual and pop up events that will work with any government guidance that's in place at the time
  • The festival will run for the whole of September rather than just the last two weeks
  • There's no deadline for registering your event as we realise that some events may need to be organised at short notice. Do give us as much notice as possible so we can get the promotion wheels in motion
  • Artists, more details below and keep an eye on the New Mills Festival Arts social media pages for further info

So, get your thinking caps on! Live stream your performance, quiz or workshop, share your New Mills walking trails for people to do in their own time, there are endless possibilities for entertaining each other in this weird new world. Submit your event here.

If you've any questions or would like to talk though your ideas then do email programme@newmillsfestival.co.uk

As we say, we will be adapting as best we can to the changing situation, but whatever we do will need to be safe for our visitors, venues, businesses, artists and volunteers.

Do make sure you’re on our mailing list and or following us on social media for updates:

Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
