The National Tramway Museum and Crich Tramway Village First World War Commemorative Sculpture

Can you help provide a lasting legacy to the Tramway men, women and families affected by the First World War?

The National Tramway Museum wish to commission an artist to design and produce a sculpture to commemorate tramway workers who lived, worked and were affected by the First World War. The Museum is initially inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced sculptors.

This project will provide the finale for the Museum’s First World War commemorations. Following two temporary exhibitions which have provided access to items from the collection that have previously been unavailable to our visitors, the Museum intends to provide a lasting legacy to the tramway men, women and their families whose lives were lost or changed by the war.

We expect an official launch at the opening of the 2018 season. Artists wishing to submit an expression of interest should call 01773 854321 or email jan.barratt@tramway.co.uk for a more detailed brief and how to apply.
