Abduction and Enchantment with Guto Dafis

On Friday 7th June we bring you stories from Welsh folklore and legend, brought to life by master storyteller and musician Guto Dafis.

Stories from South Wales and an age when ploughing a field that had never been ploughed before could lead to dire consequences that would last generations, and a door left carelessly open could result in a child being exchanged for a stubbornly alien fairy creature. As if that isn't enough he will also share the ancient tale of Manawydan, the Third Branch of the Mabinogi that deals with exile and homecoming, problems patiently born and an unexpected solution.
Guto Dafis tells with warmth, humour and vivid sense of place, punctuating and bringing magic to his performances with music and song.

Matlock Storytelling Cafe is a unique night out in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales. The candlelit tables foster a warm welcoming atmosphere. As always soup, hot drinks and great cakes are available and you can bring your own booze, it is Friday night after all. Tickets are just £7 doors open at 6:45pm stories start at 7:30 don't be late. Oh and those doors that open at 6:45 are to the Imperial Rooms, Imperial Road, Matlock. DE4 3NL.
