Matlock Storytelling Café returns on Friday the 3rd of April

Matlock Storytelling Café returns on Friday the 3rd of April with tales from two excellent tellers. Rachel Murray, resident storyteller at the Cafe and well known to our regular audience members, and Lucy Lill a new teller to Matlock who’s making the journey north from London to share her mesmerising story.

Rachel will be telling 'Out on a Limb'.
A lone oak stands, bedecked with ribbons and chimes.
A breeze rustles the leaves and ancient stories are released onto the air.
People have sat under trees and listened to stories since time immemorial. But maybe they're not the only ones listening. The mighty oak stands sentinel its heartwood resonating with the many stories it has heard. It also has its own story and Rachel has heard its whispers and they speak of passion, power and pacts with the Devil.

Meanwhile Lucy Lill will be telling 'The Flaming Queen'.
When a poor young girl walks into a magnificent palace it’s all hers for the taking - she just needs to do *one little thing*. This is a haunting wonder tale that will take you from poverty to power through the hot sweat of the underworld and asks, ’what would you do for all you’ve ever wanted?’
We are really excited and looking forward to her debut at Matlock.
