HILL Project UK

As part of this years Wirksworth Festival Performance Programme, Town Hall Events, on
Thursday the 20th of September, HILL, the story of One Derbyshire Hill will be re-told with a
difference! HILL, was exhibited at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery earlier this year, attracting
thousands of visitors in record breaking numbers. Because of this response, the entire story of a
working Derbyshire Hill is moving to London Town early next year to be exhibited at the
Copeland Gallery in Peckham, opening on the 21st of February 2019. But now is your chance to
meet some of the people featured in HILL, the Quarry workers and the Shepherd, the Pub
Landlady and the Baker in this live re-telling of HILL in a one off special performance evening,
directed by Debi Hedderwick who has produced work for the Edinburgh Festival.
Kate Bellis’ Photographic work will be shown as an installation, alongside live poetry by Lucy
Peacock, music by Brian Boothby and Carol Fieldhouse, dance choreographed by Debi
Hedderwick, film by Gavin Repton and the marvellous HILL Cow sculpture made by acclaimed
sculptor Sally Matthews from the Hill itself, All will be telling this true Derbyshire story. It
promises to be a real celebration of community and place, an evening not to be missed!
