Funding update for organisations and individuals

Funding update for organisations and individuals
Today we’re publishing guidance for the Culture Recovery Fund: Grants programme, and we wanted to make sure you were in the know about this fund.
This fund forms part of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s (DCMS) wider Culture Recovery Fund of £1.57 billion, set up to protect the UK’s culture and heritage sectors from the economic impacts of Covid-19.
We’ve also recently re-opened our open access fund, National Lottery Project Grants, and we have more information about what funds we’re planning to bring back in the future.
Let’s dive in!

FUNDING FOR ORGANISATIONS

Culture Recovery Fund: Grants

The Culture Recovery Fund: Grants programme will focus on supporting cultural organisations affected by the Covid-19 crisis that are at risk of no longer trading viably by the end of this financial year and that are considered to be of international or national cultural significance, or that contribute to Government’s levelling-up agenda.

The criteria for this fund have been set by Government, and the grants will be administered, awarded and monitored by the Arts Council on behalf of the DCMS. Grants of between £50,000 and £3 million will be awarded from a budget of up to £500 million.

The fund opens to applications at 12pm (midday) on Monday 10 August.

FUNDING FOR ORGANISATIONS

Culture Recovery Fund: Repayable Finance

A further £270 million will be available through the Culture Recovery Fund: Repayable Finance programme, which will be open to both charitable and commercial organisations. Any applications to this fund must be for a minimum of £3 million. Please note: organisations cannot apply for both grants and repayable finance.

More details about this programme will be published before the recovery grants close to applications, so that potential applicants can choose which option is best for their organisation.

FUNDING FOR INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANISATIONS

Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants

On Wednesday 22 July, we re-opened Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants, our fund for all individual artists, community and cultural organisations.

Project Grants is open to anyone who needs funding for an arts, museums or libraries project that shows public benefit. Most importantly, we've updated our guidance so we can support more individuals and creative practitioners during the Covid-19.

Key changes we’ve made for the time being include: removing the need for applicants to source match-funding; giving individuals time and space to think and plan with their funding; and making more museums and libraries projects eligible for funding.
