Football Fun and Games Raise Money For Event Charities

Staff at Derby and Ashbourne independent funeral directors G Wathall & Son have raised £554 for a wide range of charities at a number of summer events.

The family-owned firm attended several community events including those in Etwall, Chellaston, Oakwood, Little Eaton and Chaddesden to promote its funeral, pre-payment plans and bereavement support services.

Visitors to their stand were also invited to test their goal scoring skills with donations going towards the different events’ chosen charities.

G Wathall & Son Managing Director Helen Wathall explained: “We have been part of our local communities since 1858 and try to attend as many events as we can to talk to people about the importance of making their funeral wishes known to their loved ones. “The events are also a great platform for highlighting the bereavement support services available through the Derby Dandelions and Grief Journey Derby which help people better cope with losing family and friends. “The football game has been very popular at community events and fetes throughout the summer and we are delighted with the money that has been raised for so many good causes through people’s donations.”
