Flowers for the weekend... at gallerytop

The Small Painting Exhibition will end soon. Just in case you didn't get to see it, the show includes new paintings by South African born artist Este MacLeod as well as other outstanding work.

Este's paintings are inspired by travel, nature, dreams, seasons, sentiments and thoughts as well as everyday surroundings. Working intuitively, Este allows a painting to develop over time and observation and drawing are important parts of the creative process. By experimenting with the layering of colours, patterns, textures and mark making, and by using her trademark floral and simplified plant forms, Este’s work always retains a freshness. The creating process often involves painting over areas of detail and colour, revealing just a section of what was painted below. These vibrant and energetic artworks aim to convey intrinsic beauty, a feeling, a memory of a place or an impression.

Her work is in numerous private and public collections including Chatsworth House and the South African Parliament.
