Derbyshire Poet Mark Gwynne Jones Celebrates the Peak District National Parks 70th Anniversary

Snow is the next Chapter of Voices from the Peak from Derbyshire Poet Mark Gwynne Jones, which helps celebrate the Peak District National Parks 70th anniversary this year. It is just under 30 mins in length so sit back with a warming drink and enjoy.

Mark’s next Chapter, Kinder Scout which will be released on 17th April, the 70th birthday of the Peak District National Park. This will be an evocative story of Derbyshire- from the world's first water powered cotton spinning mill, to the Kinder Trespass, the creation of the UK's first National Park, and the now vital battle to heal the moorlands.

Partner organisation Arkwright’s Mill is celebrating their 250th anniversary and they will be exploring how these stories and others like them might inspire a longer term programme of large scale projection events on some of Derbyshire’s most iconic buildings. Chapter one, Burning Drake, is also available to listen via the Peak District National Park website www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/voicesfromthepeak
