Autumn adult education courses are now available to book

Are you looking to try something new? Why not take a look at our range of adult education courses on offer for the new term?

Whether you’re looking to gain new qualifications or skills or fancy starting a new hobby, there’s tonnes of courses to choose from.

During the pandemic many of the classes we offered had to be moved online. This worked really well in lots of subject areas so as we gear up for the new term starting in September we’ll be offering a wide range of online courses as well as ones face to face.

And a week of free taster sessions will help you to decide if you want to take a particular course.

There are family learning courses and provision for adults with learning disabilities and for those wanting to improve their mental health. Course fees vary with some courses free of charge and concessions for Derbyshire Gold Card holders and those on certain benefits.

Still time to get vaccinated

If you haven’t yet had your first or second coronavirus jab, don’t worry – it’s not too late.

A series of pop-up vaccination clinics will be held in Derbyshire throughout the coming weeks so keep an eye on the Joined Up Care Derbyshire website to find a clinic near you.

Covid-19 vaccinations are also now available for children aged 12-15 if they meet certain criteria. They must be either:

  • Clinically extremely vulnerable, or
  • Living in a household with someone who is immunosuppressed.

You can find out more about the vaccination programme for 12-15 year olds on the Joined Up Care Derbyshire website.

Not all Covid-19 vaccination clinics can vaccinate children so if you’re attending a walk-in clinic to get someone under 18 vaccinated, please check before you attend.
