Community Cinema Conference 2022 Announcement

With much regret, Cinema For All announces that due to the planned RMT strikes on 5 November, the 2022 Community Cinema Conference and Film Society of the Year Awards are postponed to 25 and 26 February 2023.

With much regret, Cinema For All announces that due to the planned RMT strikes on 5 November, the 2022 Community Cinema Conference and Film Society of the Year Awards are postponed to 25 and 26 February 2023.

We understand that this will be disappointing news, as it is for all of the Cinema For All team, but sadly the impact on travel, speaker availability and ticket sales mean that the event is no longer viable on the planned date. This has been a difficult decision, but we believe that this move will allow us to deliver a bigger and better conference to celebrate the film society and community cinema movement in February 2023.

Your ticket will remain valid for the rescheduled conference in February, and we hope you can join us then. However, if you wish to get a full refund immediately, please let Pat know on pat@cinemaforall.org.uk.

We hope that you will be able to rebook your train tickets and accommodation, but please do let Lucie (lucie@cinemaforall.org.uk) know if there are any non-refundable costs associated with the postponement of the conference and we will look at what else we can do in terms of further support. We understand this may be a significant cost in some cases.

As we are sad that we will have to wait until February to see you all, we would like to invite you to an Online Gathering on Sunday 6 November. We will be offering an online programme of scheduled films to existing ticket holders, which will be possible to watch for several days afterwards, in your own time. The online programme will also include a presentation about Cinema For All’s new heritage project by Jaq Chell, a networking session and the Cinema For All AGM. A programme and weblinks will be sent to you all closer to the time.

All other elements of the conference such as workshops, panel discussions and the Film Society of the Year Awards will move to the 25 and 26 February 2023, along with a revised programme of films.
