A Derbyshire businessman has created a unique outdoor dining shelter to help save the hospitality industry during Covid-19.
Richard Sleigh, 50, from Stanley Village, believes his Freedom Pod – modelled on the Second World War Anderson air raid shelter – will solve the dilemma facing bars and
restaurants of keeping customers socially distanced.
It should equally appeal to diners, especially given the news that you are 19 times more likely to contract the virus indoors, than outside.

Over the summer, Derby City Council’s Derby LIVE team have been working hard to rebrand and relaunch our third-party ticketing services to make selling tickets easier, quicker and more convenient.
Derby's favourite book is revealed
The results of Derby Libraries’ public vote to find the city’s favourite book are in – and the winner is the classic American novel, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
Readers were asked to nominate their favourite adult fiction book, and the results show how personal books are. Classic novels old and modern and more recent works feature on the list, along with stories considered classics of their genre and two books by Derbyshire writers.
