National Forest Arts Grants are piloting a scheme to support the arts sector in the National Forest during the continued challenges that Covid-19 presents. The scheme is intended to help the creative community to adapt ways of working and test out new methods so that alternative forms of engagement and creative activity can be undertaken.

Investor buys central Derby asset

A key retail asset in the heart of Derby city centre has been sold in a deal involving FHP Property Consultants

Acting on behalf of Catalyst Capital, FHP has confirmed the sale of the former Audley Centre, on the corner of St Peter’s Street and East Street. The property, which offers 42,000 sq ft of space, comprises a mix of national and regional tenants, including Lloyds, Poundland, Three and Betfred.

New 2022 dates announced for Derby Arena shows

Due to the continuing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on indoor live performances, Derby LIVE have now announced that three shows, The Dreamboys, What’s Love Got To Do With It? and Jason Manford will not be going ahead as planned. All three shows have been postponed by their promoters to 2022.

Window Wonderland winners announced

The winners of Window Wonderland 2020, where retailers and businesses in central Derby transform their shop windows with creative displays for Christmas, have been announced. The competition’s third year has attracted more entries than ever before – 38 in total. 

Vulnerable families are supported by Murray Park’s festive food bank

Staff at a Mickleover school have been delivering emergency food parcels to pupils’ families who are struggling financially in the run up to Christmas.

The PRIDE Response Team was set up at Murray Park Community School during the first lockdown when staff and friends of the school collected donations of non-perishable food, toiletries and household items to distribute to needy or vulnerable families.
